Wow, where to begin, everything was actually spectacular. From the day we arrived the care and attention that was provided us was exceptional. We travel often and we’ve been in... read more Mexico with my family for six months now, so being here for five weeks is a big commitment and it’s always a bit of a crapshoot arranging lodging anywhere but especially in Latin America. The place was better than anticipated, the quality of the construction, modern architecture and ample furnishings was an exceptional improvement over many of the other places we have traveled through. Thoughtful and decorative accents are tastefully installed throughout. The response time from the local management and staff, Alejandro and Jordy, along with their willingness to go above and beyond with the details was a real pleasant surprise and so appreciated. Alejandro personally made sure I got the right mechanic and tire technician for my vehicle, either following me to or meeting me in Playa Del Carmen both times to help with translations and to make certain that the service provided was acceptable. We were missing some admittedly non-essential accessories in the kitchen such as cookie sheets and he drove to get some and bring them to us on Christmas day. We of course invited him to stay for dinner and a glass of wine. We had several packages delivered here during our time and one or two were misplaced by the courier temporarily, Alejandro personally called to help track down the packages and make certain that they were delivered and Jordy brought them directly to our flat once they arrived on site. The Wi-Fi in Mexico is not known for its reliability or high-quality and so we had some of the normal challenges with the local service provider and Alejandro bent over backwards to provide options that were adequate so that we could work and complete school assignments during our time. I don’t often write these type reviews, so that fact alone speaks volumes, we highly recommend. Thanks from myself and our whole family to Maria, Alejandro and Jordy!!

Alejandra, met us personally at the property and gave us the full tour, explaining all... read more the necessary instructions for the penthouse, the bicycles, the bathhouse and pools.Upon our arrival there were 2 bags of ice and 6 bottles of chilled water which we really appreciated. There is also a water filtration system installed at the sink as well as an additional countertop eco water filter pot. There is plenty of quality cookware for the gas stove as well as serving bowls for preparing large family style meals. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are of high quality. There are first aid supplies and bug spray if you forget yours...but we didn’t really encounter many bugs in August, maybe they are worse at other times of the year. Maria has thought everything to make your stay comfortable. There are candles provided for the private roof top plunge pool and bbq dining area. She provides both bath and beach towels.As first time visitors to the area the quantity of rental choices in the Rivera Maya is absolutely overwhelming...Casa de Marias modern design aesthetic and amenities like the private roof top plunge pool and cenote type pool that is shared with the neighboring property drew us in. After exploring around Playa and Tulum the day after our arrival we were even more pleased with the location. We absolutely knew we had chosen well. The quaint town of Chemuyil is really close to the penthouse, you could walk or use the bikes provided by Marie. The quaint little town has everything you need, a bakery, several restaurants (locals and expats) and little minimarts to get provisions should you not want to make the 12 mile trip to Tulum...Casa Del Maria is just across the highway from an incredible beach

The location is perfect as it is in the middle of a beautiful lush tropical jungle, away from the busy towns... read more of Tulum and Playa del Carmen, but just a quick 30 mins away. The nearest free beach (Baía Principe) is perfect. The small town of Chemuyil is charming with basic amenities (including some great places to eat for a bargain!) and friendly people! We stayed at the loft and it is stylish, comfortable and everything works! (Not always a given in Mexico!) Alex and Jordi are very helpful, friendly and efficient! Bonus points with the kids for the pools and wildlife to explore! Would highly recommend this place (with a car!)
